Dress as though you are getting ready for a conversation you want to enjoy. Clean clothes, thoughtful details and a comfortable fit are a good starting point. You do not need an expensive wardrobe or a complicated beauty routine.
Start with a clean, attractive look
Choose clothes that are clean, fresh and in good condition. Check the parts visible on camera: the neckline, shoulders and front of your top. Remove lint, smooth obvious creases and check for marks before you start.
Build the look around your own taste. A simple top can feel relaxed, a blouse elegant, and a dress more playful. Try two outfits you already own and choose the one that makes you feel comfortable and attractive while seated.
Use makeup to highlight what you like
Makeup is optional. If you enjoy wearing it, start with a familiar routine and check the result in your camera preview. You can keep it minimal, softly define your eyes or choose a stronger lip colour. The cover shows three illustrative approaches, not a required progression.
If you use foundation, blend it well around the jaw so your face and neck look consistent. Add eye or lip definition gradually, then look again at your usual chatting distance. You do not automatically need heavier makeup just because you are on camera. Choose the amount you like and can comfortably maintain.
Choose light, uncomplicated clothes
Choose lightweight clothing that feels pleasant to wear and lets you move freely. A loose blouse, a wrap dress or a simple top with a light outer layer can work well. Check that straps, sleeves and fastenings stay comfortable when you sit and move.
If you decide to undress during a private chat, simple clothes with easy-to-reach fastenings can make them easier to take off. Avoid complicated ties or closures that you struggle with. This is a practical option, not an expectation: you can stay fully dressed throughout the conversation.
Check colours and fabrics on screen
Hold two tops near your face in the preview and compare them against your background. Choose the colour you enjoy seeing on screen. There is no single colour that every woman needs to wear.
Look closely at fine stripes, small checks, sequins or very shiny fabric while moving a little. If a pattern appears to shimmer or reflections distract you, try a simpler alternative. Also check whether a lightweight fabric becomes more see-through than you intended under your usual lighting.
Finish with hair and a few details
Wear your hair in a way you like and can leave comfortably in place. If you keep pushing it away from your eyes, try a different parting or a simple clip. Choose accessories that feel good to wear and do not catch on your clothes.
Check your hands and nails as part of getting ready; a neat, simple finish is enough. Keep a small touch-up kit nearby with the things you actually use, such as a comb, tissues or your lip colour. You do not need to buy new products for every chat.
Do one final seated check
Spend a minute in the position you will use for the conversation. Smile, turn your head, reach forward and relax your shoulders. Then check:
- My clothes look clean and neat, and I like the overall look.
- My makeup, if I am wearing any, looks the way I want on screen.
- I can sit and move comfortably without repeatedly adjusting my outfit.
- The coverage and layers match what I choose to show.
Change the one thing that bothers you, then stop checking. Once you feel ready, give your attention to the conversation.
Keep one or two reliable outfits ready. A clean, attractive look that is easy to wear makes getting ready simpler and leaves more room for your personality.
